Introduction

This one-day instructor led course has been developed to assist attendees to gain a better understanding of the useful features of Microsoft Office. At the end of the day attendees will have a better understanding of how each application can be applied in their workplace. We will also provide useful tips and shortcut features that should save attendees time and allow them to work more efficiently.

Course Objectives

  • The course is designed for learners to gain skills in Word, Excel and Outlook. You will learn how to work with and format Word documents, create and manage worksheets and workbooks in Excel and work with emails, manage contacts and use the calendar effectively in Outlook.

Pre-requisites

Delegates should already have a basic knowledge of MS Windows, web browsers and be confident using a mouse and keyboard.

Course Content

MS Outlook – 9.30am to 11.00am. Customising Outlook. Explaining email options, using shortcut keys. Keep track of important events, manage contacts and other tasks.

MS Excel – 11.15am to 12.30pm. Learn how to use spreadsheets confidently, effectively and proficiently. Entering & editing values, using flash fill.

Lunch break – 12.30pm to 1.30pm

MS Excel – 1.30pm to 2.30pm. Using formulas SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX & COUNT. Working with larger spreadsheets

MS Word – 2.45pm to 4.30pm. Learn how to use common features of Word, manage documents, using tabs, improving presentation and formatting options.
