From 30 October 2026 the Employment Rights Act 2025 requires every UK employer to take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment at work, including harassment by customers, clients and contractors. Tribunals can add up to 25% to an award where the duty is not met, and they will ask what training you gave, when, to whom, and whether it was recorded.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is sexual harassment prevention training a legal requirement in the UK?
In practice, yes. Since 26 October 2024 the Worker Protection Act 2023 has placed a positive duty on employers to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment, and from 30 October 2026 the Employment Rights Act 2025 strengthens this to all reasonable steps. The EHRC guidance names training as a core preventative step, and a tribunal will ask what training you provided, when, and whether it was recorded.
What happens if we don’t train our staff?
If a harassment claim succeeds and you cannot show you took all reasonable steps, a tribunal can increase compensation by up to 25%. The EHRC can also take enforcement action. Without dated training records, it is very difficult to prove the duty was met.
Could we not just use an e-learning course?
You can, but on its own it may not protect you. In Allay (UK) Ltd v Gehlen (2021) the Employment Appeal Tribunal held that an employer’s equality training had become “stale” and was no longer effective, so it failed the “all reasonable steps” defence and left the business liable. A generic e-learning module that staff click through once, then forget, is exactly the kind of training a tribunal can dismiss. Each session is 90 minutes for up to 12 people, and the senior leader briefing is 60 minutes. A half-day compliance visit combines the senior leader briefing with one 90-minute session: every level the EHRC guidance expects, in a single visit.

A 90-minute session at your premises or online is £345.00 plus VAT for up to 12 people. The half-day compliance visit, the senior leader briefing plus one 90-minute session, is £545.00 plus VAT. Fees include tailoring, certificates and the evidence pack.
Can the training be delivered online?
Yes. Sessions are delivered onsite anywhere in the UK or live online via Microsoft Teams: the same instructor-led session, with the same recorded evidence pack.
Does the training cover harassment by customers or contractors?
Yes. From 30 October 2026 employers can be liable for failing to prevent harassment of staff by third parties such as customers, clients and contractors. The course covers recognising, responding to and reporting third-party harassment, including the manager’s duty when the harasser is not an employee.
