Course Overview

This one-day course provides practical training on how to plan and schedule projects using Microsoft Project.

Throughout the training day our Microsoft Certified trainers will ensure the skills are practised and also give real world examples to how the advanced features can be used.

This advanced course will start with a recap of the basics of using MS Project such as: scheduling dates, scheduling with dependencies and planning techniques.

Then the training will move onto the more advanced features such as customising views and working with Global.mpt. Our trainer will then ensure that all attendees understand how to use resources in Project to a high level such as management, allocation, scheduling etc.

Attendees will learn project costings and how they are applicable to managing a project to ensure budgets are met and that all projects run smoothly. However is they do not go to the original plan we will teach the delegates how to update the plan using concepts such as progress reporting, baseline, “what If” changes and recording progress.

On completion of the course, delegates will have acquired the skills needed to manage a project through the different stages. This will include if and when things go wrong and attendees will be able to add and plan for delays throughout the project.

This highly interactive Advanced level course is built around managing actual projects.  The benefits gained from this course can be applied to all project types of any scope.
